Kay (Sarah Kendall) is a successful painter who has recently changed her medium, taking her muse from the nightmares she has had ever since she was a small child. Stressed over her upcoming exhibit, Kay, her husband David (Alan McRae), Kay’s brother Eric (Frederick Flynn), and Eric’s wife Brooke (Carol Kottenbrook) take a charter flight to a remote abandoned island with a beach house owned by a friend.

Kay is miserable on the island, not able to relax and not able to sleep because of the nightmares. She tries to tell the others about her dreams, which turn out to be premonitions, but they fail to believe her and chalk it up to her neurosis. But when the storm rolls in, Kay’s nightmares become all too vivid, and she feels a malevolent presence on the island. Once Kay’s husband goes missing, she knows what happened, and the others start to wonder if Kay was right all along.

Originally released in 1982, “The Slayer” has been restored to high definition Blu-Ray and features additional bonus materials including interviews with the cast, trailers, and a collector’s booklet.
