The National Rifle: Man Full of Trouble

The National Rifle
Man Full of Trouble
(Self-Released)

On their third effort, Man Full of Trouble, these Philly-based rockers have just enough keyboards and synths to keep the Brooklyn hipsters happy, but with catchy hooks to satisfy just about everyone else. The five-song EP is not exactly earth-shatteringly original, but not sure that’s what the band set out for. It’s just solid rock, with a bit of a punk edge (as much as it can be with accompanying saxophone), solid riffs and sing-along choruses. Songs like “I Think I Have a Tumor” and “Bad News From the District” are pretty much guaranteed to get even the tightest of tight asses shaking it.
