To be honest, Owl City’s latest DVD “Live From Los Angeles” is more than you could ever need, except, you know, actually seeing him live.
The performance, filmed in front of a sold out Nokia Theatre runs the course of 22 tracks, spanning the entire breadth of Adam Young’s Owl City canon. From early material off of 2007’s Of June EP (”Swimming in Miami”), Maybe, I’m Dreaming (“I’ll Meet You There”), before giving way to massive amounts of tracks from the bands breakthrough hit record Oceans Eyes (“Hello Seattle,” “Meteor Shower,” “the Bird and the Worm”) and All Things Bright and Beautiful, for which the tour was in support of (“Galaxies,” “The Yacht Club,” “Deer in the Headlights”).
Perhaps the most peculiar thing about “Live From Los Angeles” is that Owl City does not choose to close the night with his uber-popular single “Fireflies,” instead opting for “If My Heart Was a House,” a bonus track off of All Things Bright and Beautiful.
There is also a 15-minute bonus interview, which includes a brief montage of behind-the-scenes footage and an interview with Young.
“Live From Los Angeles” is a must-have for any fan – and more than a must-have for anyone who hasn’t caught Young and Owl City in a live venue as of yet.
