Innocent Words Presents IW10 with Them Evils

TEN: Starting in 2013, each Friday, Innocent Words started shining the spotlight directly on up and coming artists/bands with 10 questions we like to call IW10.

Las Vegas, NV. But David Delaney is from Orange, Ca.

Members and Instruments:
Jordan Griffin (vocals and guitar)
Jake Massanari (bass)
David Delaney (drums)

Short Bio (in your own words):
Jake and I started out playing in Las Vegas around local bars amongst the small scene that Vegas had. We realized staying in Vegas was a dead end to our musical careers so we picked up and moved towards Los Angeles. Long story short, we found David after trying out an abundance of Craig’s List drummers. Rest was history! Them Evils started touring relentlessly and playing shows in LA, Orange County, and Las Vegas.

What’s your favorite hometown spot (restaurant, bar, coffee house, etc) that you visit when you return home from tour?
My favorite bar has to be The Wayfarer in Costa Mesa. It’s a local venue we play at and watch all the amazing acts in OC. It’s definitely a staple for the band because we perform there all the time and it’s helped us grow as musicians.

What’s Your Funniest or Worst Tour Story?
Vinnie Paul took us to his strip club in Dallas after one of our Pretty Reckless shows. He poured us shots and said “Too Them Hombres”! As the night went on, so did the drinking. The guitarist for Holy White Hounds jumped on stage and started stripping and I thoroughly enjoyed urinating in the urinal that was shaped like red lips.

What THREE things are a must have when you go on tour or play a show?
Definitely wet wipes, guitar picks, and whiskey.

What’s your most cherished album by another artist?
My most cherished album would be ‘Dirt’ by Alice In Chains. It’s made me the musician I am today.

If you had to record an EP of covers, which FIVE songs/artist would make the cut?
“Ace of Spades” by Motörhead
“Highway To Hell” by AC/DC
“Immigrant Song” by Led Zeppelin
“Sgt. Peppers” by The Beatles
“Back in the Saddle” by Aerosmith

What Are Your Future plans?
Currently we are writing new music to record with Kato Khandwala at Eldorado studios and Sphere Studios. We’ll finish that and go back out on tour… and repeat.
