Talented artist Brad Klausen struck gold in 1999 when he packed up from his Southern California roots to go north to Seattle where he became the in house graphic designer for the legendary Pearl Jam.
In 2007, the artists expanded his talens by opening the one0man graphic design company Artillery Design and has continued working with Pearl Jam along other rock luminaries Alice in Chains, Built to Spill, Faith No More, Queens of the Stone Age, Soundgarden and the cover poster Explosions in the Sky.
Furthering his artistic gift, Akashic Books has compiled the impressive work of Klausen in the book “From a Basement in Seattle: The Poster Art of Brad Klausen.”
The large format book showcases not only the beautiful art work of Klausen, but also the process of creating the art. Along with the birth of the sketches of his vision, there is also detailed account of the story behind the concept for the poster designs.
From the eye-catching cover to the short forwards from Pearl Jam members Jeff Ament and Eddie Vedder, the soft cover book is presented well for its readers with page after page visually striking. Many of Kalusen’s concert posters have been highly collectible and in turn highly expensive. So for the casual fan or die hard fan who can’t offord the originals “From a Basement in Seattle: The Poster Art of Brad Klausen” is perfection…not to mention a nice conversation piece as a coffee table book.
