Flogging Molly has had their fair share of sonic successes thus far in their career, and their impressive 3 CD/DVD Live at the Greek Theatre, filmed/recorded September 12, 2009 in Los Angeles, is solid proof. From 2000’s Swagger, up until the bands groundbreaking Float release from 2008, Flogging Molly leaves no stone unturned and no musical memory not revisited throughout Live at the Greek Theatre, which easily, very easily actually, ranks as one of the best live records to be dropped in this young year of 2010 and one of the better ones to be released in recent memory.
The audio version of the package is aptly kicked off by “The Likes of You Again,” and visits such fan favorites as “Requiem for a Dying Song” and “Drunken Lullabies” before disc one is wrapped by “Float.” Disc two begins when one left off with the track “Tobacco Island,” then this portion of the night’s proceedings continues through songs like “The Story So Far” and “Rebels of the Sacred Heart” before the show concludes on the song “The Seven Deadly Sins.”
Now, keep in mind, that’s only the audio portion, and there is still the DVD portion. Sure, you will get the entire show in DVD form, filmed with nearly a dozen HD cameras, but the bonus content goes a long way as well. On the DVD you will get up close and personal with the band backstage as well as the band’s music video catalog.
