Yes, there are already a slew of book about Bruce Springsteen out there. Add to that the fact that he’ll finally be putting out his autobiography this fall. But Boss proves there was room for one more book about one of the best rock stars to ever come out of the U.S.
This beautiful, hardcover coffee table book gives a solid overview of the career of New Jersey’s favorite son in just over 200 pages. Though there are few new revelations here for the hardcore Springsteen enthusiasts, there are enough fantastic photos (150) crammed in the book to make it a must-have for anyone who’s sung “Born to Run” alone in the car. Gaar traces the musician’s life from Asbury Park up to 2014’s ‘High Hopes’ album. Each chapter is also capped with a one-pager rundown of each album.
Did we need another book in the Springsteen canon? Probably not, but I’m glad we got it.
