No stranger to the world of rock, bassist for the band Dianogah, Jay Ryan first began his career
as an artist by doing freelance illustration. It wasn’t until he met with a screen printer from Screwball Press that he began to develop a taste for the rock poster.
What ensued is a unique vision that, combined with a deep love for the rock music scene, led to truly remarkable works of art.
And with the release of Akashic Book’s compilation of his works, “100 Posters, 134 Squirrels,”Ryan’s impressive talent is showcased with the turning of each page.
Packed with Jay Ryan’s colorful works and featuring essays by Art Chantry, Debra Parr andSteve Albini, as well as an interview with the author himself, “100 Posters, 134 Squirrels” is more than just a catalog, it’s a tribute to a worthy artist.
